Cirrus Staff Manual
A Guide to Setting Up Courses and Assessment for Course Coordinators
(Status : Public)
Coordinated by Cirrus
  • Assigning Students to Groups

  • Students will need to be assigned to groups manually. Group membership in Cirrus controls which of their peers' work students can see (for peer feedback assignments), as well as enabling tutors to readily access their own students' work.

  • Students can be added to groups either individually or in sets of up to thirty.

To add a number of students to a group, first select the group name, then click 'Insert students'.

  • This will bring up a window into which you can paste up to thirty student names.

Note: You will need to include both first and last names.

Add the student names and click 'Search'.

  • The search will deliver a table that includes only the selected students. To allocate them to the chosen group, click 'Allocate'.

  • Once the students are allocated, click the 'Refresh' button and you can repeat the process with the next group.
