AbstractHistoryArchive Description

An entertainment organised at short notice in support of the Benevolent Society was a great success. The entertainment was held in the Divisional Hall and included songs, recitations, tableaux and waxworks, amongst other things.

He is saddened by the two inmates and sympathises with their plight, forever separated from their homeland and loved ones. He pays tribute to the organisers and performers who, at short notice, staged an entertainment to raise funds for the Benevolent Society.
