This, the fifteenth in a series on pioneers and explorers, tells the story of Cobb and Co. in Australia. The company was set up to run passengers from Melbourne to Sydney via the goldfields. It took on the mail services and flourished until the advent of the railway.

The Best Laid Plans, J. E. Baldwin , single work short story
A businessman comes to Phillip Island for a holiday. He takes a trip around the island and gets an idea. He returns home but then a mysterious guest arrives and goes out each day in his two seater launch around the Mornington Peninsula. Later these men meet on a boat in the bay and set up a plan to smuggle cigars to Australia. They plan meticulously but are caught out when the crop of supposed chicory is checked by an inspector.
