Censorship notes: According to the censor's records, this novel was published as a short story in a volume of short stories titled Seed of Desire (New York: Castle, 1956; republished New York: Castle, 1961) which was banned on 06.02.1962. The novel was first published (Paris: Olympia Press, 1954, 96p.) under the pseudonym Frances Lengel, and republished under Trocchi's name in London in 1961. This edition was banned by the Literature Censorship Board in 1968.
