BiographyHistory

Josie Agius is a Narrunga, Kaurna, Ngarrindjeri and Ngadjuri woman. Her grandparents on her mother's side were Joe and Macey Edwards and her grandparents on her father's side were Barney Warrior from the mid-north of South Australia and May Wilson from Point McLeay. She has worked in Aboriginal health services, at Taperoo primary school as an Aboriginal Education Worker and also as a consultant cultural instructor in Aboriginal culture. In 1995, Josie Agius was named Aboriginal Person of the Year by the Port Adelaide Council.
