BiographyHistory

Stan Johnson was a jockey. He 'had his first ride in 1939...Johnson's career nearly ended after he sustained severe head injuries' as the result of a car accident in which he was involved. After recovering, he returned to the track and 'his career endured until the 1970s.' Source: Aboriginal Stars of the Turf: Jockeys of Australian Racing History (2003)
