BiographyHistory

Joan Darby is also known as grand-mother Joan to many around the Gascoyne area. Her mother was a cook and her father was a station hand. The family followed the shearing work around the area and Joan would assist both of her parents in their work. Her marriage was arranged; she was married to a man at Doorawarrah Station and had two of her three children with him.
