BiographyHistory

Patrick Johnson's family is from the Umpila people around Lockhart River, Northern Queensland. Johnson studied at the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra. While competing for the ANU in the 1996 Australian University Games, Johnson was spotted by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), which offered him a scholarship to help him train as a runner.
