BiographyHistory

Douglas Abbott is a Southern Aranda man, whose language is Perdame. Abbott's Dreaming is the Kangaroo. The Perdame people's Dreaming is Wild Ducks. Abbott grew up at Henbury Station and Idracowra Station. It was not until 1992, as an adult, that Abbott was initiated into the traditional law of the Anmatjirra and Aranda peoples. He was the last of his brothers to go through traditional law. Abbott has worked on stations and as an interpreter for his people.
