BiographyHistory

Gordon Coulthard was born at Nepabunna Mission in the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. His mother was born at Wooltana Station and his father had worked at Balcanoona Station. Coulthard's moiety is Mathari of the Adnyamathanha people. He spoke only Adnyamathanha until he was seven and then the missionaries made him stop speaking his language and ended the traditional ceremonies. Coulthard's cousin is Mark McKenzie.(q.v.). Coulthard has lived at Port Augusta.
