Maggie Mobourne was a Keerrupjmara woman from the Lake Condah region. She married Ernest Mobourne in 1893 and together they wrote numerous letters and petitions protesting the treatment pf Indigenous Australians at the Lake Condah Mission by Reverend J. H. Stahle and seeking to improve living conditions.
Due to their public protestations, which included a letter published in the Hamilton Spectator in 1900, they were forced to moved from Lake Condah Mission to the Lake Tyers Mission by an Order in Council from the Board for the Protection of the Aborigines in 1900; permission to return was granted in 1903.
In 1907, Maggie eloped with Henry Albert but returned to Ernest and Lake Condah in 1910. She also maintained relationship with Henry Albert, having a daughter, Dolly, with him in 1911, who was raised as a Mobourne. Maggie and Dolly were removed to Lake Tyers in 1914 and Ernest forced to leave shortly after.
