Notes by Buggins : No. 5 : At Church, Buggins , single work prose

'Buggins' reflects on the 'narrow minded [denominational] bigotry displayed by 'certain members of the "Ballarat United Methodist Free Church"'; on French ballet; on the Prince of Wales Opera House season of Lyster's Opera Troupe; and on recent productions at the Royal Victoria Theatre. Of the latter, 'Buggins' comments in some detail on A Comedy of Errors and notes The School of Reform; or, How to Rule a Husband, The Black Doctor and Anniversary Day, or Helen's Betrothal: An Australian Drama in Three Acts: Scene-Sydney.

Parting Words, E. F. (fl. 1868) , single work correspondence

'E. F.', who is about to depart the colony, pens [his] thoughts on the sectarian altercation existing between the Freeman's Journal and the Sydney Morning Herald, and on the treatment of the Freeman's at the hands of the premier, James Martin.

The correspondent wishes the Freeman's 'a glorious triumph' over Martin, and hopes that 'fairplay may again speedily reign in New South Wales'.
