AbstractHistoryArchive Description
Following the formation of the Sydney Science Fiction Foundation in 1968 or 1969, Gary Mason instigated a club zine which was named The New Forerunner: A Sydney Science Fiction Foundation Publication. The title was likely in honour of a similar Australian publication from the 1950s (Forerunner: A Science Fiction and Fantasy Quarterly). The zine continued under this title until 1975 at which time it was continued by Foreunner Quarterly beginning in August 1975 with Issue No 1.
Two people who have been linked to Forerunner Quarterly as editors were Susan Clarke (ca. 1975-76) and Jack R. Herman (ca. 1979-81).
Contributors to the zine included A. Bertram Chandler.
