'When the senior member of a Russian scientific team at the Paris Air Show seeks political asylum in the British Embassy and asks to join his brother-in-law, already being debriefed in England, the authorities can't believe their luck. And yet ... his interviewer is uneasy about this new defection - something doesn't quite add up.'
