'From the author:
I am preoccupied with my experience of Tasmania and how this intersects with personal, local and global webs of meaning. In the yellow realm of cliche, life is a walk - a feeble verb, when 'trudge,' 'ramble' and 'lurch' are available. The poems in this book, then, are lurching attempts at unfolding such experiences and images, occasions and ideas which have attracted, confused and temporarily lingered with me.
The writing in Lurching progresses from narrative forms through to an almost pointillistic poetics. I really like words, and you can do a lot of interesting things with them.' (http://www.arts.tas.gov.au/industry_development/premiers_literary_prizes/shortlists/lurching) (Sighted 14 Oct 2016)
