AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The editorial for the first issue of The Hobart Town Courier and Van Diemen's Land Gazette announced that '[our] official duties as Printer to the Government having terminated this week, we are now in a condition to pay an undivided attention to the interests of this journal, and have this day to offer the Hobart Town Courier to the reader under an entirely new and modified arrangement.
