William Howitt and the Gold Commissioners single work   correspondence  
Note: The Chief Commissioner of Gold Fields, W. H. Wright, the Assistant Commissioner of Gold Fields, E. J. Barnard, and the Senior Assistant Commissioner in Charge, J. A. Panton, respond to accusations made against the Commissioners by William Howitt. The letters were written from Sandhurst (i.e. Bendigo) and from Melbourne in November and December 1853.
