Notes

  • A soldier's romantic projections are shattered when the woman of his day dreams begs for 'Baksheesh'.
  • This poem appeared in the Kia-Ora Coo-ee in July 1918 with the author's name indicated as 'Eplwaim Flaxstick'. Presumably this was due to error.
