Most of the items in this book were written when the author was a fourteen year old schoolboy and can be classified as being for children, although some were obviously intended for a general audience (e.g., the poems and stories on horse racing). In addition to poetry and fiction, there are two one-act plays: 'In the Indian's Camp' and 'A Perilous Picnic: (A Short Play)'.
