Fleeing an uncommitted relationship and seeking romance, Della Blake joins the London Gaiety Company as a dancer. The company is performing in Calcutta where Della attracts the attention of a rajah, who sends her orchids each evening and attends every performance. One evening she is abducted and her dreams of romance are realised.
