A young Australian man returning from a trip to England befriends two young Englishmen. The barque Onward is wrecked in the Torres Strait and the three survive but are stranded on an island.


  • This was the second of a number of adventure stories for children ('Australian westerns'), involving bush settings and depictions of Aboriginal people, which 'Bulloo' wrote for The Queenslander in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
