  • Bachelder's diorama was well-patronised yesterday evening. The more the entertainment is seen, the more it is appreciated and should prove as lucrative to Mr Bachelder as his previous panorama of the American civil war has done.
  • A work about to be published by Mr F. W. Bailliere will list all the towns in Victoria. Directories of some six hundred towns have been printed, leaving approximately forty smaller places still to be done. All towns are listed alphabetically, except Melbourne and Ballarat which are done separately. The volume will be titled 'Official Post Office Directory of Victoria' and is being printed in royal octavo with each sheet containing about four thousand names including the residence and occupation of each individual.

Theatre Royal, single work review
— Review of The Iron Chest George Colman (The Younger) , 1796 single work drama ;
Mr Montgomery appeared as Sir Edward Mortimer in the play, 'The Iron Chest'. The role allowed the actor to give full scope to his powers and Mr Montgomery's performance was greatly appreciated by the audience.
