AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The author imagines the social, economic and political changes that will take place in Australia by the year 1900. The author forecasts the virtual disappearance of Indigenous Australians, stating: 'It is now five years since any of the sable gentry were seen withing 500 miles of Sydney. Disease, nakedness, and the increasing severity of the winters having nearly extirpated the race' (7 July 1826).
