AbstractHistoryArchive Description
A fanzine published out of Oroville, California, The Diversifier ran to twenty-seven issues over a period of six years. Specialising in science fiction, horror, and the supernatural, it published a mixture of new work by contemporary writers (for example, A. Bertram Chandler) and reprints of works by well-known writers in the field (for example, Isaac Asimov and Fritz Leiber).

According to Michael Ashley, Chet C. Clingan was the editor and publisher for the duration of the Diversifier's run, but his brother, A.B. Clingan, acted as co-editor for twenty-three issues between June 1974 and November 1977.

Originally priced at $1 an issue, the fanzine's cost rose to $1.25 from late 1976. By 1978, the price was fluctuating heavily, from $1.50 in January to $2.50 in March, and down again to $2 for the combined May/July issue.
