Fire That Threatened Australian Civilization : Black Thursday, Colonists Thought Whole Country was Aflame, Bernard Cronin , single work column
This, the first in a series entitled 'Epics of the Bush', tells of the three terrible fires which took lives and property in Victoria. It uses excerpts from the newspaper reports of the time. It describes the horror and bravery and explains how Victorians realised the need for a volunteer fire-fighting organization in Victoria.
