AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Lower explains how he and his grandfather managed to have sanctions applied against them by the League of Nations while playing in a chess tournament in Geneva. As Lower demonstrates, this was only one of the ways in which his grandfather spoilt Lower's sporting career.
