AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Matt Buchanan reports that Neil Armfield has given Patrick White's wastepaper basket to US film director John Waters. The basket came into Armfield's hands as a gift from film producer Margaret Fink who had bought it following the auction of White's personal effects after the death of White's partner Manoli Lascaris.

The column also refers to Louis Nowra's role in the screenplay for K-19: The Widowmaker.
