Jeffrey Heath records two versions of this story in Nunggubuyu Myths and Ethnographic Texts, Canberra Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies, 1980. His original storytellers were Milton and his brother Dick, and Reuben, speaking in Nunggubuyu. Another version of this story is recorded in the collection made by E. Hughes, Tales of the Nunggubuyu Tribe, Rose River, NT, CMS Numbulwar Mission, 1969'.
