Barry Ward's The Nelson Conspiracy deals with the disappearance of Juanita Nielsen. Ward told the Sydney Morning Herald: 'It is categorised as a novel but is in fact disguised as fiction, principally to protect surviving witnesses. All the names have been changed but the first 30 chapters are factual. The final eight chapters are pure fiction, simply because the conspiracy is extant.' (Sydney Morning Herald, 27 July 2009)
