AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The history of the State Correspondence Classes, which originated in Victoria in 1914 and were adopted by all states, as well as New Zealand. The service was available to students unable to reach an established school and was extended to inpatients in Children's Hospitals in South Australia in 1925.

Notes

  • Includes photograph of children in a W.A. group-settlement school making rope. The rope was sold to purchase books for the school library.
