'Combining performance, machinery, subversion and song, "Hope is the Saddest" tells the story of three people lost somehwhere between reality and make-believe. Firstly there's Theo, a post-teenager who builds machines to explain his feelings. Then there's Marion, the compulsive liar who lived her childhood travelling in a suitcase. Finally there's a young woman called Hope, who has set out on a mission to bring happiness to the world through her love of Dolly Parton. Source: ww.theatre.asn.au/ (Sighted 13/01/2009).
