Notes

  • Paragraph about the widow of Adam Lindsay Gordon, referring to reburial of Gordon's infant daughter, Alice, with her father. Gordon's widow outlived him by many years and named the sons from her second marriage Adam, Lindsay and Gordon. The saddle and bridle Gordon used when he made his famous leap remained in the family.

    Also contains a paragraph on Queensland watercolour artist, Pigeon Crowle. who achieved overseas recognition. Crowle came from a family of artists and sculptors. Her father, a Mr Finucane, was a sculptor and an artist for the original Ipswich Punch.
