Barefoot Bride, Dorothy Cork , single work novel romance
When Amy arrived in Queensland, all the way from Sydney, to mayy her fiance Clifford, she found him strangely unwelcoming - and very reluctant to discuss a wedding date! So in the end, sadly she had to face the fact that he was having second thoughts about it all. So, to save face, Amy pretended that she was going to marry the cynical Mike Saunders instead - which seemed a good idea, until Mike stunned her by taking her up on it. Nevertheless, she and Mike might have made a success of it - until things began to go wrong with that relationship as well. Was it Amy's fault, or was she just born unlucky? - back cover (Australia/New Zealand ed)
