Salom speaks of his style as a painter ; writing poetry ; he describes his writing technique ; he speaks of the pioneering character of his family ; growing up on a dairy farm in W.A. ; his university studies and beginnings as a writer. Salom reads and provides background details to the poems: "My father", "Breath", "The hostel" and "Pity all".
