AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A children's animated series about an anthropomorphised Sydney Harbour ferry called Fred, who has a koala for his skipper and a pelican called Pete for a deckhand.

Ferry Boat Fred was in many ways a one-man production: Pye was creator, script-writer, and producer. Pye, a native of England, was apparently inspired by such British television programs as Ivor the Engine and Noggin the Nog.
