Yvonne has waited years for Paul to propose. Her forceful friend, Beryl, tells her she should propose to him and insist on knowing his intentions. Despite her brave words, Beryl has her own problems with Dick, the man she wants to marry. Both girls have well-paying careers which they blame for their suitors' failure to propose.
