'A series of six pamphlets to be issued to its members by the Book Cub of California ... Each pamphlet will relate to one of the countries of the Pacific area allied with the United States in World War II, and its text will present a short prose work characteristic of the literature and national spirit of its people. Each part of the series will be designed and printed by a different Californian printer and will be limited to 550 copies' (qtd. in George Mackaness An Annotated Bibliography of Henry Lawson 1951).
