For this review the Age incorrectly names the venue as the Haymarket Theatre, the name by which it was previously known. Advertising in the same paper records, however, that the venue, now called the Duke of Edinburgh, was being accorded a 'grand' reopening with the Jack Sheppard pantomime. A review in the Australasian also refers to the theatre as the Haymarket (1 January 1870, p18), while the Argus identifies it as the Duke of Edinburgh (28 December 1869, 6).
