AbstractHistoryArchive Description
The history of Fullers Theatres, led by John Fuller. Rivals to J. C. Williamson, they moved from magic lantern shows, and travelling waxworks to vaudeville, ballet and opera and bought up theatres, built or bought cinemas and were radio pioneers.
The successes of the Fuller family led to New Zealand being referred to as 'Fullers Earth'. In Australia Ben Fuller, received a knighthood - a first for a theatre man in Australia.
