Regency 1818. Taking a short cut to gain the London road, the new Earl of Merton found himself - a gazetted rakel - playing the knight errant, rescuing a lady from kidnap. She refused to give her name, but Martin knew his fair Juno was a lady. Thus, on his launch back into society, he was bound to meet her again - he could bide his time. (Back cover, 1999)
