Dedication: In memory of Moore McLaughlin, brother of my great-grandfather. Nineteen-year-old Moore was shepherding sheep on the bank of Comet Creek (in the foothills of the Carnarvon Range, near Springsure) when he was murdered in 1862 during the aftermath of the Cullin-la-Ringo massacres.
