Based on the war time diaries of Jack Woodward who was captured at Kalamata Bay during the Greek campaign in 1941 and imprisoned in Austria for four years until the end of World War II.
An earlier version was short listed in the Australia Remembers play competition in 1995 and was given a professional reading at The Currong Theatre, Canberra, in 1996.
A revised version in three acts was produced at the Street Theatre, Canberra, 30 October 2003. Directed by Herman Pretorius.
Also written as a radio play.
