Two men in a bush hut find a young girl in a tree blown over by a storm and Yankee Jim promises her dying mother to look after her. He sends her to Melbourne to be educated but when he visits and finds her a lady he banishes himself overseas. Tale told by a worker to his employer during a buggy ride. Simple. Touching, in parts.
