AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Cain and Abel on the gold-fields. Brotherly rivalry for a woman's love leads to attempted murder and a despairing death. Interesting depiction of the irreversible moment of the realisation of guilt; contrasts with the cheerful domestic life portrayed as well. (PB)
