Billabong Revisited, Richard Rossiter , single work criticism (p. 75-81)
The Strangeness of 'Strange Objects' and Todorov's Hesitation, Anthony Ross , single work criticism

Ross examines Gary Crew's Strange Objects using the model for examining fantasy fiction devised by Tzvetan Todorov. Having identified weaknesses in Todorov's model, Ross creates a model which accommodates engagement with fantasy fiction via a dual axis approach. One axis relates to a work's setting and plausibility and the other focuses on the state of mind of the characters and events.

(p. 82-87)
Who's Afraid of the Small Good Wolf?, Ruth Waterhouse , single work criticism
Through reference to Margaret Barbalet and Jane Tanner's The Wolf and Gillian Cross's Wolf, Waterhouse examines the manner in which cultures construct ideologies and addresses the possibility of reconsidering some accepted norms.
(p. 88-94)
