  • Author note: In Parochail, Mark Reid writes "Working Class Martyr: Tom Edwards died of head injuries sustained on Fremantle Wharf, 4 May 1919 when a party of armed police and volunteers moved against the picket lines of the striking lumpers' union. A memorial drinking fountain in King's Square commemorates Comrade Tom Edwards: Working Class Martyr."
