Based on Charles Dickens' The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club (1837), the story revolves around George Heyling (the queer client).

Notes

  • Dibdin's play was performed as The Queer Client, or The Avenger at the Royal Victoria Theatre, Sydney on 16 May 1842.

  • The Queer Client is one of two plays by Charles Alexander Dibdin which are extant at the New South Wales State Records. The other play is Billy Barlow.
