AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Ninji lives in the highlands of New Guinea. When he becomes a pupil at the new school built by the white men, he finds himself puzzled by the contrast between the old ways and the new. He seeks the advice of the village witch doctor - but it is only after a visit to Goroka, the nearest town, that he learns the true value of both the old tribal customs and the new education.
