This poem appeared in the supressed 1880 edition of Songs from the Mountains, but it was subsequently omitted as publisher William Maddock, considered it to be potentially libellous.
A copy of this poem, possibly written in Kendall's hand, is glued into the copy of Songs from the Mountains, held in the Hayes Collection, at the Fryer Library, at the University of Queensland.
