  • Author's note: 'The Molokani heretics living north of the Caspian recently petitioned the Czar for toleration and were kindly received. Disaffection arising among them shortly afterwards, a regiment of soldiers was sent to the disturbed districts to "pacify" them etc - Lloyd's Weekly.'
  • The note accompanying The Bulletin version differed somewhat : 'The Armenians are petitioning the Sultan, etc., etc., The tribesmen are supplicating for mercy, etc., etc. - See daily press ubique.'
